Rise & Shine Adventures began as a simple idea: to pay more attention to the days we’re already living.

We’re Sarah and Kathryn — two ladies who love exploring, learning, and finding joy in everyday adventures, especially when our dogs are involved. This blog is our shared space to document those experiences, reflect on what we discover along the way, and share honest reviews of places and activities that welcome both people and pets.

Nothing here is rushed or curated for perfection. It’s a record of real outings, real trips, and real moments — muddy paws included.

Who We Are

Sarah

Sarah has always loved animals and travel, whether that’s discovering a new local walking track or planning bigger trips further afield. She’s endlessly curious, quietly adventurous, and the kind of person who notices small details — light, movement, timing — that turn an ordinary moment into a memorable one.

She enjoys photographing the world as she sees it and has a natural eye for capturing places just as they are, without fuss. Much of the heart of Rise & Shine Adventures comes from her love of being present, outdoors, and connected — especially with her dog by her side.

Kathryn

Kathryn is drawn to reflection, storytelling, and finding meaning in everyday experiences. She loves slow mornings, thoughtful travel, and writing about the moments that don’t always make it into highlight reels — the walks, the pauses, and the decisions to live a little differently.

For her, this blog is a way to hold onto experiences, to remember where she’s been, and to share practical insights from trying new things — particularly when it comes to pet-friendly adventures and making life feel fuller without making it busier.

Meet the Dogs

Lacey

Lacey is a clever, loyal Australian Shepherd with a big personality and an even bigger sense of curiosity. She’s confident, observant, and always ready for the next adventure — especially if it involves a walk, a beach, or learning something new.

Lacey has been part of countless outings and experiences, and her presence has shaped how we explore the world: more thoughtfully, more slowly, and always with her needs in mind.

Rocket

Rocket is the newest member of the Rise & Shine Adventures crew. Still learning about the world, he brings fresh eyes, enthusiasm, and a reminder to notice the little things — the smell of the grass, the joy of discovery, and the importance of rest between adventures.

As Rocket grows, many of our experiences are shaped by learning, training, and introducing him to new places in ways that feel safe and enjoyable for everyone.

How It Works

  • Browse our upcoming events to find the one that feels right for you. We host events year-round in all different locations and climates.

  • Sign up and pay all required fees to reserve your spot. If plans change, you can cancel up to 14 days before the retreat start to receive a 50% refund.

  • After booking, we'll send you a Welcome Packet with everything you need to know—detailed schedules, packing list recommendations, add-ons to consider, and more.

  • We'd recommend booking your transportation to and from the event as soon as possible, to ensure you can arrive without any complications or delays.

  • Now all that's left to do is pack your bags and get excited for your new adventure.
